7 Best Acne Creams to Stop Acne

August 29th, 2010

Decided to fight and win? With so many and treatments on the market some of them surely have to work. But which ones? Here you will find the list of cream treatments that actually work.

DDF BP Gel also includes Tea Tree Oil

DDF BP Gel contains 5 percent benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide works well to treat acne, and 5 percent is a mild but effective concentration. This cream also contains tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is generally beneficial for your skin, and it fights acne as well. It has antibacterial properties that help prevent acne breakouts. Most people who use this cream notice that their skin feels better after a week of applying the cream. It is effective to cure acne and it doesn’t dry your skin out.

Acne Solutions Emergency Gel Lotion by Clinique

This product has many positive customer reviews. It really helps to fight acne that keeps reappearing. It unclogs pores filled with bacteria and controls oil production on your skin. You will see reduced redness and inflammation in just a few days. Clinique Acne Solutions is a strong cream with high concentration of benzoyl peroxide. One disadvantage – it is more expensive than other acne control products.

Persa Gel by Johnson and Johnson

Works very effectively to treat present acne spots and to prevent feature breakouts of blackheads and whiteheads. This product also contains benzoyl peroxide; the concentration of it is 10 percent. This is the highest concentration allowed for non prescription acne medicine. Persa Gel is water based, so it works for all skin types. This is a very popular acne cream; you can find it in any chemist shop.

Blemish Double Agent Treatment from Biore

This cream is not benzoyl peroxide based; instead it protects your skin from acne by sealing in salicylic acid. It also keeps out the dirt to prevent farther inflammation. The manufacturer claims that you will see blemishes reduced after one application, most people report seeing results in 3 – 5 days. It is gentle and doesn’t dry your skin.

Oxy 10 Balance Emergency Spot Treatment

This is a very strong acne cream that will cure the worst of acne. However, use it with care; it only should be used to cure existing acne, not as a preventive method. It also might irritate sensitive skin, so if you applied Oxy 10 and your skin feels irritated, this product is not for you.

Clinique Acne Solutions Concealing Cream

This cream belongs to the same line of Acne Solutions by Clinique as the gel mentioned before. This is not a medicine as such, but a make up item. Everybody who has acne knows that finding the right make up to hide it is a problem. Most foundations and concealers only make your acne worse. In contrast Acne Solutions Consealing Cream is specifically formulated for acne affected skin. It heals acne as well as hides it. If you use make up for acne, this cream works very well to conseal blemishes. But like all Clinique products it is not cheap.

Natural hearbal acne creams

You would be surprized but you can make some effective natural acne creams at home. One effective treatment is a mix of banana, avocado and vitamin E ointment. You can buy vitamin E concentrated cream in a chemist or order it online. To make the cream take half a tea spoon of vitamin E ointment, one small avocado and half a banana and blend them in a blender. Apply this acne remedy to your face and keep for several minutes.

Natural acne remedies work very well for some people. The only disadvantage is that you can not store them like you would do with a bought cream. For example banana and avocado cream can stay in your fredge for a day, but not much longer.

A word of caution

Acne creams are effective in getting rid of acne, but most of them have the same drawback. It makes your skin very sensative to sunlight. So when you use an acne control cream, use a good sunblock cream as well.

If you decided to get rid of your acne try some of the acne creams we reviewed. Instead of squeezing and pinching your pimples, apply an acne cream treatment once a day for at least a week. You will see how much better your skin will look.

I had minimal acne all through high school but in my first year of college it really started to become noticeable. I tried different topical ointments from the dermatologist (such as differin), as well as oral antibiotics. Nothing made much of an impact and I disliked using all of them. Then I bought this because of all the positive reviews, and let me tell you, they’re right! It’s really gentle on my skin, smells nice, and in just the two days I’ve been using it I already notice a difference. I’m sure glad I got this instead of the more difficult and harsh kits that are also available online, though keep in mind my acne wasn’t severe.

I can’t recommend this product enough.

I bought this and the Laroche Evaclar face wash. It’s been exactly one week today that I got it from Amazon and started using it. Let me tell you, this stuff is amazing. As good or better than the reviews on amazon say. I have not had one new zit since last weekend and any zits I had when I started using this are gone now. I’ve been getting these deep zits since I was like 13, so it’s taken me 10 years to find something that works this good. In one week I feel much more confident than I have in years. They say to wait for 2 weeks for full results, and if I’m this satisfied now it can only get better. You really feel clean when using this product. All I need now is something to diminish a few small scars I have from years of zits. I don’t think Laroche has a product like that yet.

I wish I had found this product long ago.

It is the only thing I’ve actually rated 5-star on Amazon because I believe it rates it.

It reduces visible zits when applied directly to them- sometimes in just a couple of hours.

When applied to the whole face after a warm shower just before bed, you wake up with a clearer, cleaner, tighter face. The acidity kills acne-causing bacteria on and below the surface of the skin, dissolving oily residue, preventing clogged pores, and eating away dead skin.

I found this product in Paris, and a few years later it started to be exported to the USA. Until then, I was spending alot of money to purchase and ship it here into the USA where I live. Now that it is available on Amazon.com, I’m so overwhelmed with happiness.

I cannot possibly say enough. This stuff really is that good. 10/10!!!

I love this product! I have tried literally hundreds of beauty products from many countries and in every price range. I’ve used cetaphil and creme de la mer… However, I can say that after two months of using this product it is the best thing I have found for my acne-prone skin. As my dermatologist always emphasizes after I tell him I feel like I’m wasting my money, there is no such thing as a miracle. He’s right, and I still get some breakouts, but this has helped- noticeably.

It also did not dry my skin the way all other acne products seem to do. I pair it with LRP’s toleriane moisturizer and I get no flakes at all, and almost no zits. Best thing I’ve ever found for my acne; in my case better than prescription gels or antibiotics. My skin started getting better in a few days, but give it a try for at least 2-3 weeks since it takes some people longer to see results.

I highly recommend this product in combination with other Biomedic products from LaRoche-Posay for the treatment of stubborn acne. I had trouble with moderate to severe acne for most of my 20s. I tried everything – accutane, 5 kinds of antibiotics, differin gel, ortho tri-cyclen + aldactone, stuff from tv, and oftentimes, I used several of the treatments in combination, as directed by my ever-hopeful dermatologist. Finally, I went to a plastic surgeon to see about some scar treatments, and before he did any major procedures, he put me on a combination of effaclar K, a couple of other biomedic products, Retin-A micro, and I had regular micro-dermabrasion and/or facial peel treatments. Retin-A Micro gave me really dry skin, so after I cut that out, everything else worked perfectly. I know other people’s recommendations can be annoying, especially when you’re certain that nothing will work, but I’d say that this product is worth a try! It really did help me. I continued to use it even after I stopped going to regular microdermabrasion appointments, and I have never had a reoccurence of acne. (As a side note, I also avoided major plastic surgery as a result of the success.)
